We Smell You, Son!!

It's spring time, guys, the sun is shining (well most of the time), flowers are budding and the birds and the bees are out and about. It's time for guys to bear some skin and turn some heads!!
Let me tell you: there is nothing worse than going out to the club and seeing a fine brother chillin' with his friends and finding out once he comes over that all you can think is that you're happy that the club is outdoors otherwise you would have fainted from the cloud of perfume or sweat stink that precedes and follows him! This is the perfect time to test run your deodorant! If it's failing you, please try and try again until you find one that works!! But that's not what I planned to write about today..
Most ladies love the smell of a well groomed man but we also hate to smell your cologne ten seconds before you reach us and ten seconds after you walk away! Always keep in mind that your nose gets used to perfumes and smells it's exposed to most often so even though it may seem like you're not wearing enough because YOU can't smell it, doesn't mean that we can't! Besides, would you rather have a woman wrinkle her nose as soon as you close in for a few words or would you rather she came in closer and sniffed at your neck and asked you what that wonderful smell is?
When purchasing cologne also keep in mind that some smell darker and heavier than others and should probably be worn in the cold winter months. One of my favourites for those dark and cold winter months is YSL's M7: guaranteed to get a sister close enough to want to keep smelling you! As warm weather rolls around change your cologne. It reacts to body heat so a fresher, cleaner scent is best for the spring and summer months! Tommy by Tommy Hilfiger is always a good choice but my current favourite is Clinique's Happy.

Keep smelling good,

Rick Rizzle!!

Loyal Citizens,

Okay so we just copped the new Deeper Than Rap album from Rick "Da Boss" Ross. For all of the citizens that live on Mars then you haven't heard about the on going beef between Ross and Fitty; caused by the fibs Ross told regarding a correction officer gig he had back in the day. We don't know about you, but we're not entertained by beefs - they're a distraction to the lyrical content real Hip-Hop heads want. That being said--Rick has put his lyrical game back in focus. We can't say this is an "end-to-end" album because we don't drive Maybachs - yet. :) Rick has definitely stepped up his lyrical game--the laid back pimp stylistic production of the album is definitely grown as hell. Mr. Ross dances around the correction officer subject in a recent interview with XXL (shout out to XXL for attempting to give the people the real). Rick alludes to some mysterious "street shit" that he didn't care to say out of respect or fear of incrimination (We didn't know you could be incriminated in the streets-guess things change). Honestly, we don't care--bottom line the album is hot. Get it! Lot's of money music--so if you're having a tough go right now and can't stand to hear about money-pass on this one. Deeper Than Rap is a star studded event: Nas, Kanye, Wayne, John Legend, Trina - the list goes on! Don't skip: Track 1, Track 2, Track 6, Track 7, Track 9, Krunk 10!!

For Our Female Readers

Girls, the sun is out and spring is finally here. Let's just go over a few shoe do's and dont's for spring and summer weather. Sometimes a girl just needs a friendly bit of advice! You are W-O-M-AN --embrace that fact! Don't go around wearing sloppy, plastic, cheap looking flip-flops! Sure times are tough - but treat yourself! Go 'head and spend that extra ten bucks and buy a pair (or three) cute flip flops that can go from the store to the a relaxing afternoon--sitting in a sunny Piazza somewhere around Italy--or wherever your nearest Piazza is. Needless to say, make sure your pedicure is IMPECCABLE! Lotion is key to success when baring those lil piggies. I'm not hatin': I know that most of us are Moms and/or working ladies, but lets meet the spring and summer sun with some style! No socks in sandals please!! If you enjoy the look of stilettos or any other type of heel remember: practice make perfect! Naomi Campbell walk it out before you hit the urban jungle. There is nothing worse than seeing a beautifully dressed diva who can't walk in a nice shoes. Practice! Practice! Practice! Opt for some wedges if you don't feel comfortable in high heeled shoes. Bottom line: Bring out the natural diva that is hidden in all of us--you're worth it!!!

Can JadaKiss Save New York?

Fam,

Let's be real - it's no secret that the NY hasn't been reppin' hard for a very very very long time. Nas-is eternal (goes without saying), but concious rap never gets the air time it deserves - that only leaves bucked tooth 50 and a rare hand full over others (Shout out to Mims - saw that freestyle money - Move!). And unless you're like me and my homies and believe that the American Gangsta album was J's real comeback--you might be thinking that NY hip-hop is gone forever. Never fear - Kiss is here - Muah! Jada's new album, The Last Kiss, is an end to end scorcher. I'm listening to it for the 100th time as I write this blog - absolutley genious. Kiss takes you back in time and walks you through the game he knows and does so with a "swag" that puts the Big back in Big Apple. Must hear: Track 18 - Track 15 - Track 11 (MUST HEAR) - Track 7 - Track 3; but do yourself a favor and listen to the whole damned thang mane! "Yo/Pocket full of cash/Wallet full of plastic/In and out the lanes/Dippin' through da traffic/We aint hustlin' no more/We doin' gymnastics." - Kiss. What?! Citizens - be loyal!

Central Italy Quake Victims Fund Raiser

Aye Yo,

As promised - we told you that we would keep you posted on the efforts to assist the families of the terrible earthquake the ravaged central Italy. Semuh Breeze own A&R, Elle, was on location with Fruili's own Carnicats and this is her report:

Carnicats, a group of four young artists from the relatively secluded mountains of Carnia, joined over a dozen other groups, singers, choirs and various other types of artists on Saturday in Udine for the “UNISCITI AL CORO” concert to raise funds for the victims of the earthquake that struck unexpectedly in L’Aquila a couple of weeks ago. Dj Deo, Doro Gjat, Dek Ill Ceesa and G.I. Joe entertained the crowds with songs from their debut album Carnicats distributed by ReddArmy Independent Records and songs from Dek Ill Ceesa’s debut album “Rap par Cjargnel” also from ReddArmy. The proceeds from the fund raiser were donated entirely to the relief effort. More from Carnicats on Facebook and My Space.
Good job guys!!

The Family Stone

Greetings,

There is no feeling like the one you get from reconnecting with family. We at Semuh Breeze Promotions encourage you to put away yesterday's strife, guard your mind against confusion and take up the mantle of harmony. When I was a boy we didn't have much but what we did have we shared-joy, happiness and sorrow equally. Within the family you may find yourself at odds with mirrors of your own personality. You may even detest a shared nature. Yet there is no greater cosmic bond. True, you can choose your friends-but within the family there is strength, identity and power. You're welcome.

Shook

Aye Yo,

Thanks to all the family and friends that send us their love and support in reaction to the quake that shook Central Italy. The quake leveled acient cities and killed hundreds of people. Growing up in Southern California I had my fair share of earthquakes-I know how scared and panicked the event can make you feel. SBP will do whatever we can to assist the people affected in deed and action. We often forget that this can be a hostile world (even without human beings).

Peace.

Nino Brown

So I recently took at trip down memory lane and popped in the hood classic "New Jack City". I hate it when people spoil the movie viewing experience by telling you about a movie before you get a chance to see it-so don't expect me to ruin it for you. I suggest you check it out if you haven't seen it. But for those of you who have seen it enjoy the references in this rant.
I'd like to speak on the life and times of Nino "Sit cho figh dolla *ss down, fo I make change" Brown-the leader of CMB (Cash Money Brothas), the powerful urban gang depicted in the movie. Wesly Snipes stars as Nino Brown. One can learn a lot from this movie. Such as.......... Performing the duties of a crime syndicate leader is a major task. It takes raw intestinal fortitude, brutal instincts along with dashes of underhandedness and selfishness. Mix it all together and you'll find yourself in the company if some very wealthy cats. Impressive. In the end they wind up getting smacked around by mascara wearing Ice-Ts-check the reference-it's the scence where Mario Van Peoples is "recruiting" the young detective played by rastaclad T. Look at Ice-Ts eyes and tell me that's not mascara. Anywayz. Bottom line: interesting plots and inflated egos only result in movies where the bubbas get smacked around by make-up wearing rapper/actors. Damn it-you gave it away.

Pace!!!

Viva Venezia!

The kingdom of Zemunda is tranquil and beautiful. But it pales in comparison to the pleasure of enjoying a nice cold beer (red beer-uh huh) in a Venecian resturant tucked away in some alley in the labyrinth of Venice. The day started off cloudy and we though it was going to rain. We were lucky enough that it didn't rain and we enjoyed a sun drenched afternoon in the middle of San Marco's Square. I decree, true wealth resides within the confounds of friendship. We're busy at Semuh Breeze Promotions. There's a lot on the horizon for the artist and the people who believe in this little tinker shop. For those that think different-thanks for the motivation-I still got love for ya! Shouts out to Dillon (www.hollyworx.blogspot.com) -you're on your way-congrats! Shouts out to Kami and Mary-it's a beatiful thang! Shouts out to the Danahays-my sides still hurt! Shouts out to Dee! Ya did your damn thang man-I appreciate your hard work-here's a secret: When it comes this easy you're a natural. Keep it up-you're the buzz in the firm; ride the wave. People: the date-April 17th, the place-Life Music Studios (Vigonovo), the time:2130, the event- Poetry Night. This is going to be a powerhouse event-plan on being there. 'Till we meet again.

Strength in Numbers

Hereyee, Hereyee

Loyal Citizens - I am proud to introduce Dee the new Talent Manager for Semuh Breeze Promotions. Some of you may be aware of the arrival of Prince Carter. In preparation of this momentous event I scouted the local area for somebody who could roll with the punches. I met with Dee, a young go getter from San Diego, and brought him on board to assist me with keepin' thangs running smoothly. I feel it's not only important to mi familia but to the artists of SBP that I take the time to chillax with my people yet keep things going within the organization. Don't worry - I'll still be the one keeping you posted on the play by play from the lair.
